Penneys Mini Haul

Penneys Mini Haul

Hey guys 😊

I hope you’re having a lovely week. If you returned to work on Monday, well done – you’re already at the halfway mark!! 😄 If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll know that I did some damage in Penney’s earlier this week. I literally only went in to buy socks and left with two bags full of stuff I convinced myself I needed – why does that always happen in Penney’s like?! Below is a little haul of what I bought, a mishmash of everything from homewares to beauty products.

First I spotted these metallic finish cushions. I’m a magpie and love anything sparkly or shiny so I fell in love with these. They have a coppery finish and the reverse is just plain. You’ve probably seen them on a couple of bloggers Snapchats already but this was the first time I had seen them in store. They were marked €6 each and there were only two left so I had to get both; cushions don’t look right on their own. When I checked the receipt afterwards they were actually marked down to €3 so I ended up getting the 2 for the price of 1.

Next were these really cute bronze tea light holders and of course, they matched the cushions so I couldn’t leave them behind 😉 They’re lovely ornament pieces and could be used as jewellery holders as well. They were just €2 each.

I actually didn’t think that I would find this next piece in the Wexford store. My bestie got her hands on one of these black notebooks with a gold “More Issues Than Vogue” slogan and I fell in love when I saw hers but she had bought the last one. Luckily they had just 2 left when I was in this week. A dead handy notebook for college and for jotting down ideas and goals for 2016. It was just €3 – bargain!

I bought a couple of other boring essentials from across the store that I won’t go into 😜 Something that I do want to mention is the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water which you probably already know about. Now, I’m not a beauty expert and I can only speak from my own experience but I love this stuff! I use this water on a cotton pad to remove makeup at night. Some people say that it can replace your entire cleansing routine but I wouldn’t recommend that. Your cleansing routine is key to maintaining good skin and I use the micellar water after a cleansing milk, to remove makeup residue and before an exfoliating pad and/or moisturiser. Sometimes I’ll use it quickly to freshen  my face when I wake up in the morning too. Let me know if you’d like to see a post on my routine in the future. These travel size 125ml bottles are so handy. They’re just €2 in Penney’s so I picked up 2 to leave one at home and bring one to my house in Waterford for college.

Next is a product that I’ve been dying to try – Golden Goddess Oil is the latest addition to the Cocoa Brown by Marissa Carter family. I’ve read loads of great reviews and Stephanie O’Quigley recently did a really good feature of the oil on her Snapchat – I didn’t realise you could use it as a highlighter until I saw her snaps! It’s a dry shimmering body oil that illuminates your skin and has you glowing like a goddess, literally! I want to do a full review of this product after I’ve done a proper trial of it but first impressions are great – today I was sans-make-up so I used a tiny amount of Golden Goddess on my cheekbones just lift my complexion and it worked! I swatched it on my arm over the tan I’m wearing at the minute and it caught the light beautifully 😍 I can’t remember the price exactly but I think it was €9.50 or in and around that.

Next are my HOLY GRAIL eyelashes. I was an Eylure devotee converted when Danielle Chin MUA used the Penney’s individual lashes on me for my 21st Birthday make up. These individual lashes are so easy to put on once you get comfortable using them. I personally don’t use the glue provided, instead I use the Duo Glue which dries clear and has fantastic hold. With a tweezers I just pick an eyelash from the tray, dip it in a teeny-tiny amount of tacky Duo glue and place it on my lash line using a handheld mirror to get a proper view of what I’m doing. They’re the only lashes I’ll be wearing in pictures unless I mention otherwise 😉 They are just €1.50 per pack and are regularly sold out so I always stock up when I spot them!

PS… Individual Eyelashes – €1.50 each

My last pick from Penney’s is this see-through make up bag. I carry around 2, if not sometimes 3, make up bags with me between everyday makeup, compacts and going-out makeup so this size bag is absolutely perfect. I like that it’s see-through as it’s easy to locate the little bits and bobs that fall to the bottom and the rose gold trim is really cute. It was just €3 and Penney’s have a great selection of makeup bags in there at the moment.

Finally, I know it’s not from Penney’s but I had to show you this lovely framed photo from Heaton’s. It was just €12 and was too nice to leave behind. The quote is so sweet too – We are all stars but we must learn how to shine.

So that’s my little haul for the moment. I have a What I Wore post from NYE due to go live very soon, I’m just having a nightmare trying to download the photos so apologies for it being a bit late 🙄 haha! In the meantime, you can get in touch with me on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

Love, Denise x

They’re definitely hard to beat for homeware, so affordable! Trust me, you’ll be converted once you try the eyelashes – let me know how you get on with them 😉
