What I Wore: Floral Choker Dress 🌺

Hey dolls!

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the nice spell of weather we got again! I spent the weekend with my family as we celebrated my sister’s 18th birthday party. I can’t believe she’s 18 already, it makes me feel so old! She threw a party in the local golf club where she’s a member and is literally like some sort of golfing prodigy, her scores are incredible 😱⛳️

Surrounded by friends and family, she had a great night, as we all did. We had been on the hunt for the right outfit for the night for a while and in the end, she found the perfect dress for her. The embellished dress that she wore is the Medina dress from French Connection and she got it in their online sale!! Like I mentioned in a previous blog, she is some woman for the bargains, she always has so much luck in the sales and this was no different as there was 50% off the original price.

It is hand-beaded and hand-sequinned front and back so the finish is second to none and it came to a lovely length too. She paired it with rose gold metallic pointed toe heels which were the right match with it for a young, fun look. You could also team it with scarlet red strappy sandals for a stylish wedding guest look or gold skyscraper heels for a real statement.IMG_9211

What I Wore

I ordered two pieces from Missguided two weeks before the party knowing that one of them would do for it and I settled on this choker style printed shift dress. It was a comfortable fit on as it hangs from the shoulders and I liked the summery vibes of it with the floral print finish. I also knew it would go well with my Louboutin’s and would need little or no accessorising which suited me as I didn’t have the time to be shopping for new shoes or accessories with my work week.

It turned out afterwards that this dress is also available at New Look, (it will be on the floor in the Wexford store this week) and Quiz, which I was slightly sickened over because it’s nice to have something that’s a bit different and unique, not so readily available but it was on Misguided first anyway. On the other hand it’s great for people who aren’t 100% about online shopping as they can fit it on in store before purchasing 😄IMG_1688

Glam Squad

Danielle Chin did her make up as always, we both love Danielle – she’s such a professional! Studio 5 in Enniscorthy did her hair – I’m raging I don’t have a picture of it because it was styled in a really cool half plait, half ponytail updo, it looked divine! I did my own hair and make up as I was rushing after work that day, so hence why it looks like crap, ha ha!

The one part of my make up I did love however was the contour and highlight from the SoSu by Suzanne Jackson palette – the highlight is unreal!!

That SoSu highlight though!!

The Cake

The cake was so good too – she ordered it from Jennies Cupcakes in Wexford and her attention to detail is second to none! She had a golf themed cake obviously, complete with golf balls, sand bunkers, clubs and herself laying on the green trying to blow the ball into the hole, (apparently it’s a golfing joke… 🤓) It was delicious as well so if you’re looking for a cake for an occasion I would definitely recommend her!

It’s safe to say we had a great night and it’s all over now until her 21st comes around in 3 years time, then I’ll REALLY feel old 🙈😂 If you have any questions at all don’t be afraid to message me on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat – holychic_blog

Love, Denise x
