The time is looming and the return to college is near, I can smell it in the air. It’s been 9 months since I was last on campus as I’ve come to the end of my work placement semester this week. I’m sure it will be strange to be back in lectures after such a long break but there are just 12 short weeks of college between me and the finish line! I plan on commuting to W.I.T this semester so I’ll have to be really organised and make the most out of my time in the mornings.
The thing that seems to take me forever is my make up routine; I could spend 45 minutes at it every morning which is crazy! But over the last few weeks I’ve been introduced to some products that have halved the time I spend on my everyday make up look. I wanted to share them with you gals so keep reading to see how I go from the pancake face, in the left picture, to something a bit more put together like the image on the right!
Most of you will already be familiar with these amazing products by Benefit. They’re not new to the market by any means and are coveted by so many people and now I can see why. The must-have products include the Porefessional face primer, Hoola bronzing powder, They’re Real! lengthening mascara and Gimme Brow volumising eyebrow gel. I’ve introduced the latter 3 to my make up routine over the last couple of weeks and I don’t know how I got away for so long without them.
For Killer Cheekbones
I really love how a soft bronze or contour has the ability to sculpt my pancake face, so a good bronzer is a must-have in my everyday routine. Hoola is a matte bronzer which is perfect for contouring as compared to a shimmer bronzer.
The idea behind contouring is that you want to create shade and dept in the hollow under your cheekbone so a shimmery shade would actually do the opposite. I find Hoola to be really pigmented so you only need a small amount of product and a light hand to apply and create amazing results. It’s a warm tone and is build-able so I use this for both day time and night time looks. With the natural-bristle brush and a little compact mirror inside, this is such a handy product for me to pop in my bag and bring with me on the go.
Brows On Fleek
100 per cent, the thing that I spent the most time on was filling in my brows. I have naturally dark, thick brows but of course, they are sparse in places so filling them in is a necessity. Gimme Brow has transformed the way I do my eyebrows everyday – just a lick of this volumising gel through my brows and they are full, set and ready to go!
You see, Gimme Brow contains teeny tiny microfibres that hang onto your own brow hairs and fill in the gaps. This creates a natural looking, fuller, tinted brow and sets them in place so they won’t budge during the day. It has cut a big chunk of time out of my make up routine and I’ll spend less time dilly-dallying around in the mornings now.
Lashes For Days
Mascara is another must-have product on my list. It opens up your eyes and even on days that I don’t have time to do my make up, a layer of mascara always gets a look in. I think we feel naked without it, right girls? They’re Real is Benefit’s award winning lengthening mascara that claims to lengthen, curl, volumize, lift and separate your lashes.
In my opinion, it does exactly that – my lashes look longer than ever with They’re Real on and thanks to the specially designed brush, I can get right into those sneaky little lashes tucked into the corners of the eyes so not one lash is missed.
The mascara is blacker than black and it does NOT budge, so even after a long days commute, I can be sure I won’t come home with panda eyes. So much so, I would recommend an oil based cleanser to remove it in the evenings.
They are my Benefit Heroes and I’d love to know what yours are too? Are there any other amazing products that I’m missing out on – as if I need an excuse to shop?!?! 😍🙊 Let me know on Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram or Twitter and don’t forget to hashtag #BenefitHeroes
