Blush Makeup is at a Pharmacy Near You Now

Irish Beauty Blogger

I can’t even deny the love affair that I have with makeup! Fashion will always be my Bae, but over the last few years, cosmetics have consumed me slightly. I have never studied makeup artistry, taken courses in it or even aspired to be a MUA. Like so many other girls I assume, I just love to dabble in it and experiment with new products and see what looks I can create on my own visage. There are things that I know I’ll just never get the hang of, liked winged liner, but if I can find something that makes my everyday routine a little easier or gives my glam evening makeup that extra oomph, well that’s all the better! So when Blush Makeup got in contact with me to see if I’d like to try some products, I jumped at the chance.

About Blush Makeup

Blush Makeup is the creation of award winning make up artist Nicola Walsh. In 2007 she designed the makeup brand which is stocked in pharmacies and salons throughout Ireland. As well as the collection of products, Nicola owns two salons – Blush Makeup and Nails in both Kilkenny City Centre and Clonmel, Tipperary. Most recently, the Blush Makeup range has been rolled out to pharmacies nationwide, making it even easier for beauty buffs across the country to try out their products.

Mineral Liquid Powder Foundation

I have been using some of the Blush Makeup products for a couple of months now. This blog post includes everything that you need to know, starting with arguably my favourite product – the Mineral Liquid Powder Foundation. This is my go to foundation on my ‘no makeup’ days as it’s lightweight and has a soft finish. It’s a self-setting foundation, meaning that it applies as a cream but sets to a powder finish. This is just so handy and would be especially good for anyone with oily skin. The foundation is enriched with Vitamins A, C and E and contains SPF 15 too. It’s also paraben-free and talc-free so there’s no flash back in photographs, even though you have a finish that looks like it was set with powder. For me, it’s an all rounder and can be built up for more coverage. I apply mine in a minute with a Real Techniques Stippling Brush.

There are currently four shades in the Blush Makeup Mineral Liquid Powder Foundation; Ivory, Cashmere, Pale Almond and Toasted Almond. I’m wearing Pale Almond in the photos below, (without tan), and use Toasted Almond when I’m wearing tan. The Mineral Liquid Powder Foundation retails for €28. You can also order a Sample Pack on www.blush.ie which is really handy and the testers will help you find the shade that suits you best.

Blush Brow Balm

You must know by now how much I love my brows! For me, they are one of the most important features and I’m lucky to have naturally full brows. They frame the face and accentuate your eyes so using the right products for them is key. The Blush Makeup Brow Balm is one of the easiest brow pomades I’ve ever used. The consistency of this product is like butter – it glides on effortlessly and stays put for hours. It doesn’t feel heavy in your brows, like other products can make them feel. It’s also enriched with Vitamins C and E which help condition your eyebrow hairs too. The Blush Makeup Brow Balm is available in 3 shades; Blonde, Brunette and Deep Brunette and retails for €17. I use the shade Brunette and it’s a great match to my own colouring, as you can see from the pictures below.

Blush Felt Tip Liner Pen

Like I mentioned above, I won’t win any awards for my eyeliner skills! Winged liner is just something I could never properly get the hang of. The Blush Makeup Felt Tip Liner is thankfully making this task a lot easy. The nib of this liner pen is super fine a gives a sharp finish. I really like the fact that it’s a liner pen too because you get the same consistency all of the time – I don’t need to worry about dipping in to a gel liner or pot when the brush begins to run dry. For me, the felt tip pens are just so much handier and they stay put all day and night too! The Blush Makeup Felt Tip Liner Pen retails for €15 and comes in the shade Black, which I’m wearing in these pictures.

Blush Liquid Lipsticks

First things first, the Blush Makeup Liquid Lipsticks smell amazing!! They have a sweet scent that makes them almost good enough to eat. These liquid lipsticks have a glossy finish and need just one sweep to give a gorgeous pout. I do prefer glosses myself so I really enjoy using these lipsticks. Blush Makeup stock these in a huge selection of colours – brown, red, coral, pink and everything in between! The formula is very rich and extremely luxurious so you would get great wear out of these glosses. I am wearing the shades Kitten Pink and Latte in the pictures below. Retailing for €18 each, you can see the full selection of Blush Makeup Liquid Lipstick colours here.

Blush Matte Liquid Lipsticks

If a matte finish is more your style, then the Blush Matte Liquid Lipsticks could be for you. I’m not usually a fan of matte finishes as they can dry out my lips completely but the Blush Makeup ones are actually very gentle on my lips. They dry matte in seconds and wear quite well. I’ve worn them going out for dinner and my lips only needed a tiny top up on the insides at the end of the meal. What I love about these lipsticks is the colours – they are insanely pigmented, like seriously, look at them!! The shades I am wearing are Electric Coral and Ever After. Also retailing for €18, the Blush Makeup Matte Liquid Lipsticks are the latest addition to the makeup collection and will be stocked in pharmacies nationwide very soon.

Red Cherry Lashes

Blush Makeup are stockist of the Red Cherry range of false eyelashes. They sent me out 3 pairs to try and I just love how natural they are. I could sell dramatic, 3D effect false lashes myself, I have drawers full of them, so it’s lovely to find some great quality, natural styles too. These are great for everyday wear and while I was recovering from *that* situation with the semi-permanent lash extensions, (my own fault 🙄), the Red Cherry lashes were my saviour! Blush Makeup stock a huge variety of the styles in the salons in Kilkenny and Clonmel, these are just the 3 that I was sent in particular.

Finally…

Whenever I mention that I’ve used any of the Blush Makeup products on Snapchat or Instagram, I get an influx of messages so I thought it would be just as handy to write a blog post about them. I’ve been trying these products for a couple of months now so I think that’s a pretty good test of them, don’t you? As I mentioned above, the girls at Blush Makeup were so kind to send me out these products but I was under no obligation to write this post and this is my honest opinion, as always!
