Hello sweeties!
Lately I’ve been consumed by the Pyjama trend! First we had the Lingerie as Outwear style take over the latter end of the summer season; silky slip dresses with lace accents and bralets underneath blazers were everywhere – but now it’s gone up a notch and you need look no further than your bedroom for inspiration.

Taking inspiration from the catwalks of Thakoon, Alexander Wang and Dolce & Gabbana, the trend trickled into the high street stores with the introduction of piped pyjama shirts and soon, printed pyjama sets were gracing the rails – not for the faint hearted!

This is one trend that can be interpreted a thousand different ways, whether you want to subtly work it into your everyday wardrobe or want to make a serious statement by rocking the look head to toe! I was a bit wary at first, wondering would it literally look like I had rolled out of bed?! But I teamed this printed shirt from New Look, (see below) with some black Molly jeans from River Island for the Cocoa Brown #KindBloggerBoss event recently & it was such a comfy, yet trendy look 🔑

But it’s all about how you style key pieces, like the pyjama shirt, that will make it work for you. Go up a size for an looser, oversized fit but keep whatever you’re wearing on the bottom fitted so you’re not swallowed up by your outfit. Tucking a shirt slightly into your favourite jeans is a nice nod to the trend.

If you choose to go all out with a full pyjama set, mismatching prints looks so cool! The same print head-to-toe is a hard look to pull off unless you’re supermodel tall, so if like me, you’re a wee bit shorter, the mis-matched look creates a better illusion.

I’ve pulled a couple of different ways to wear the trend below with fashion from high street brands that are all available online right now 👌🏼 Introduce the trend with these shirts which look just as good over jeans as they do over skirts, making them really versatile!
Shirt: ASOS | Skirt: River Island | Boots: River Island
Shirt: ASOS | Jeans: Zara | Heels: Zara | Handbag: Zara
Shirt: River Island | Trousers: River Island | Mules: Office | Handbag: Missguided
I think these next two looks are really chic and would be gorge for a night out! The two pieces just ooze sophistication and the block colours will work well for a variety of body shapes. The belts will also nip you in at the waist, creating a stunning silhouette.
Waistcoat: Missguided | Trousers: Missguided | Heels: ASOS | Necklace: Betty & Biddy
Waistcoat: ASOS | Trousers: ASOS | Bralet: River Island | Clutch: River Island
Go all out with some printed styles and like I mentioned above, don’t be afraid to mix prints or alternate these pieces around with each other. You’ll look like you’ve been a Street Style Kween forever!!
Shorts: River Island | Blazer: River Island | Heels: Public Desire | Choker: River Island
Shirt: ASOS | Trousers: ASOS | Shoes: Public Desire on ASOS | Bag: River Island
There you have it ladies, some new ways to wear the autumns hottest trend! What do you think about it, is it shabby or chic?! Let me know how you put your look together on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or Snapchat 😄
