I hope you’ve been enjoying my Christmas Gift Guide series of blog posts recently. Of course, it’s not all about the presents, I think the time spent with family and friends is the best part for me – but a little gift doesn’t hurt 😜 This post is my own personal Christmas wish list which you may be able to pull some inspiration from. I wrote a similar post this time last year and now that I’m looking back at it, I’ve been very lucky to have ticked some of those items off the list in the last 12 months 🙊 You can read that post here.
Charlotte Tilbury Christmas Calendar
First of all is the Charlotte Tilbury World of Legendary Parties Advent Calendar – it just looks DIVINE!!! I genuinely get butterflies for this wardrobe that’s packed full of Tilburys best products like Wonderglow, Pocket Pout (which is sold out on its own right now!), Eyes to Mesmerise, (which I was dying to buy anyway!) and lots more. It includes 5 full size products and 7 miniature ones, but they’re still pretty big.
My all time favourite lip combination is her Lip Cheat liner in shade Pillow Talk paired with her Hot Lips lipstick in the shade Kim K.W, (I often mention it on my Snapchat) and there are so many other products that I want to try but they are pure luxury and a little bit pricey so I just think that the Advent Calendar is a great way to test out basically everything and then decide what is worth repurchasing… That’s how I’ll justify it anyway 😂🙊 I know an Advent Calendar is meant to be opened in the run up to Christmas but I sure wouldnt mind opening all of the drawers on the 25th 😂😂 It is available on the Charlotte Tilbury website here or at Brown Thomas, here.
Every girl should own at least one of the Wonderbra Ultimate Strapless bra’s, they are without a shadow of a doubt the best strapless bra I’ve ever worn and I haven’t worn anything else for a couple of years now. They are so comfortable, give the best support ever for a strapless bra and it’s totally smooth so it’s invisible underneath tops. The Wonderbra technology that is in the making of these bras is incredible, they have a mould in them that looks like two hands holding you up and that’s literally what it feels like. Like I said, I live in mine so I’m in need of some new ones but they’re a pricey number at €50/€52 a pop so hence why they’re on my wish list 😜
SoSu by SJ Highlighter Kit
Something else that I’ve had my eyes on for a while now is the SoSu by SJ Highlighter Kit. Obviously the evening it was announced I was dying to buy one but they’ve sold out time & time again since then so I just haven’t had the chance to get one yet. This is the latest product in the SoSu by Suzanne Jackson beauty range and it contains 6 powder highlighters in a variety of gorgeous colours. The top 3 shades are pressed powders and the bottom 3 are baked powders so they give different intensities of pigment but all of the shades give an iridescent glow.
I swatched it in McCauleys and the shades are just incredible, super pigmented and you can use them for highlighting, as blushers or as eyeshadows so it’s very versatile. I also like the fact that there is a full size mirror in the palette too; very handy! The palette retails at €29.95 on sosubysj.com or in local stockists.
Gucci Double G Belt
I shared a picture on my social media pages of this recently, with the caption ‘Dear Santa…’ and I’d probably spontaneously combust if he arrived with an iconic Gucci belt for me 😂 Now this is probably something that’s in my wildest dreams, but what else is a ‘wish list’ meant to be made up of if not dreams?! For me, when it comes to designer wares, I would go for something timeless that could be incorporated into a lot of different outfits easily – like when I bought my Louboutin’s, I wanted a plain patent nude heel as they would go with absolutely any outfit, and they have done exactly that 👠❤️ So that’s what I think about the black leather belt with the antique brass ‘GG’ hardware, it would be just as nice with jeans or pants as it would be with a skirt or over a slip dress.
Speaking of jeans, I’m sure that the Gucci belt would look perfect on a pair of POCO by Pippa jeans 😆 I’ve heard amazing reviews on Pippa O’Connors range of denims online recently and anyone I’ve seen mention them, loves them! They sound like they’re genuinely fantastic quality and a great fit and jeans are such a wardrobe staple that it is worth investing in a really good pair every now and again. Out of the 5 styles that are currently on offer, (Pippa is apparently working on a new 6th style too 🙊), I think The Slimmers would suit me best. I always wear a skinny leg jeans and I like the colour & wash on The Slimmers too. They retail at €110 on pocobypippa.com.
Recently I came across the Pranamat online and the more and more I’ve done my research into it, the more I genuinely need it in my life! I do suffer with minor back pain, probably due to the fact my mattress is ancient and has springs sticking out of it 😬🙊 So the Pranamat sounds like it could be the answer to my problems. It’s a therapeutic massage mat made completely of eco-safe materials and the way that the mat is designed ensures that it reaches and massages the meridian points in your body, getting to the root of the pain.
It comes in a variety of colours and also in a mat or pillow style. I’m all for the holistic, natural approach as opposed to traditional medication and imagine how zen you’d be lying on this for 20 minutes everyday 😂 You can buy them online directly from Pranamat and prices start at €80 for the pillow and €110 for the mat.
Make Up Goodies
Lately I’ve turned into a little bit of a make up junkie and there are just too many products on my ever-growing lust list 😆😬 I’d often have dreams about being let loose in a Sephora store so things like the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette and Hourglass Ambient Light palette are top of my list. There are a couple of Blank Canvas brushes that I need, *think I need*, like the F36 F40 and doubled ended E23/E24 brush and some Inglot ones like another 4SS and a 6SS too.
An Inglot black Freedom System flexi palette, Duraline and some of their eyeshadows are also on the list. I love the What A Spice collection and there are some other shades like 450 and 383 that I would love for their intense colour. Sometimes I feel like the colour of the eyeshadows I use doesn’t translate in pictures, does anyone else feel that way?
I really adore the Viktor & Rolf Flowerbomb perfume. I bought it for myself just after my 21st birthday and it always reminds me of that summer. It’s a stunning floral scent that is bursting with a bouquet of Centifolia rose, jasmine and patchouli. It’s really light and is not sickeningly sweet or overpowering either, which I hate in perfumes. I’ve been out of it for a couple of months now and you just don’t feel the same without your favourite scent, right?! It transports you back to a different time and the memories come flooding back in just with a whiff of it, it’s crazy!
On Tara O’Farrell’s snapchat today, I noticed that Arnotts are offering a service for Christmas where you can get a name or nickname personally engraved on to a bottle of perfume too. I think that’s a fabulous idea for as a present, it’s something that makes your gift unique and even more special. The perfume is linked here and Arnotts also have an exclusive Flowerbomb Gift Set this year which includes a Body Lotion, Body Cream and Shower Gel making this an ideal Christmas gift.
iPhone 7 Plus
Finally, the iPhone is 100% on my list! I’ve been waiting now for an age for the iPhone 7 Plus to come back in stock with any of the Irish providers but it seems that Apple is keeping everyone in suspense and there doesn’t seem to be a delivery date confirmed yet. My own phone is on its last legs, if it’s not plugged into the wall like a landline, it’s dead in my handbag after 10 minutes and we won’t talk about what happens when I try to Snapchat anything when I’m out and about 🙊 It’s just not reliable anymore now and after 3 years I think it’s had its day.
For a long time now I’ve had my eyes on the Plus size iPhones and I’m also after the gold finish one – my iPad and MacBook are also gold so it just wouldn’t be right to break the chain 😂 That’s the OCD in me coming out 😜 So I’m keeping my fingers and toes crossed that it comes back to the Irish market before Christmas, or before I throw my own phone out the window, whichever happens first! 😂
So there you have it guys, that’s my extortionate Christmas wish list done for another year. Of course I don’t expect to get all of those things for Christmas but I’ve compiled this list of the items that I would genuinely love as inspiration for you. If you’re at a loss as what to buy your sister, girlfriend or best friend then I hope this post as given you a couple of ideas and you’ll soon have another gift ticked off of your Christmas list.
