Style Round Up: Grammys 2016

Style Round Up: Grammys 2016

Hey girls,

Who else was absolutely stuck in to the Grammys last night? The Grammys always provide us with some iconic moments, for all the right and sometimes wrong reasons 🙊 – Like when JLo wore the green chiffon dress with the deep plunge, that was the Grammys; when Lady Gaga arrived in an egg carried by servants, that was the Grammys; and who can forget when Beyonce and Tina Turner performed Proud Mary together, yep that was at the Grammys in 2008! Last night, the awards were flooded with fashionable celebrities and in todays Style Round Up I’ve included my favourite looks which was so hard to narrow down 😁

The very first beauty to grace the red carpet was Carrie Underwood who wore a couture Nicolas Jebran gown. I love the side slit and how she kept this look minimal yet glamorous. I was obsessing over her hair too, all that volume and the lob cut 👌🏼 She later performed with Sam Smith in a chiffon monochrome number, so sweet.carrie-underwood-grammys-red-carpet-2016

Of course, E! were on hand to cover all the red carpet antics but it was Giuliana Rancic’s dress that I was more interested in watching. She genuinely looked like a golden goddess in a Jani and Khosla design. The dress had all these little mirrored pieces on it so every time she moved, they caught the light beautifully. As you know, I’m a self-confessed magpie so of course this one won me over ✨✨✨IMG_0980

I think Taylor Swift shocked a lot of people when she stepped out sporting a new hair do. There are so many funny memes floating around the internet today about the hair, like it’s shocking! But from the neck down I have to say I liked her look. She wore an Atelier Versace two piece with Stuart Weitzman heels and Lorraine Schwartz jewellery. Colour blocking is always a strong, bold look and the orange and pink combo is really vibrant.

Ellie Goulding absolutely wowed me to be fair! Her style is a little bit understated, like for me, she’s never one that stands out but this Stella McCartney dress is drop dead gorgeous! I love the soft powder pink colour, pastels are always gorgeous on blondes and the chain detail on the back of the dress was the perfect addition of drama. I just loved this, even the effortless looking hair and make up 💋 Definitely one of my top picks of the night! She’s been killing it this week even, her cobalt blue dress at Clive Davis’s Pre-Grammys party the night before was stunning too!ellie-goulding-grammys-red-carpet-2016IMG_8567

Next up is my joint favourite with Ellie – Kaley Cuoco chose a Naeem Khan jumpsuit and H.Stern jewellery. I LOVE THIS – the soft colours, the sparkle, the cut outs on the front and back, the beachy waves – its young and chic and true to Kaley’s style. The Grammys is the type of event where you can get away with wearing a jumpsuit, it’s not as black tie as, say the Oscars, so I appreciate it when celebrities play with their looks a little bit more when they have the chance to, like here.IMG_8576IMG_8577

Adele was another stand out on the night wearing a black dress on the red carpet and a wine dress while performing, both by Givenchy. I think this is the best she’s ever looked, she’s lost a lot of weight and looks so natural, no more hair extensions or floral print tea dresses. The fit of the dresses were so flattering and she oozed pure class and elegance.

Possibly the hottest pregnant woman in the world right now – Chrissy Teigen looked sensational wearing a Yousef Aljasmi gown, Stuart Weitzman shoes and Lorraine Schwartz jewels. I love the embellished cape on this dress, it’s a quite angelic look.

Ciara is just smoking hot in this Alexandre Vauthier dress, (or piece of material, whichever way you want to look at it 🙊😁😂) Honestly, if I had a body like she does, I’d be wearing this too. Why not wear daring looks like this while you’re young you know?! I personally love the dress and like how she kept everything else quite minimal – barely there sandals, no jewellery and natural looking hair and make up. She let the slit be the statement here and it works.

There were so many other great looks, like Demi Lovato’s tuxedo-skirt combo was lovely, as was the wine number that Selena Gomez changed into during the night but I just included my stand out looks in todays Style Round Up, the outfits that I thought were a bit different. I can definitely see what Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez chose becoming hugely popular looks for the debs this year – fully sequinned, block colour with midriff cut outs, just wait and see 😏

Who were your favourites ladies? Let me know on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter ✌🏼

Love, Denise x
