What I Wore: Khaki Vibes

Hey dolls,

Over the weekend I took a trip up to Dublin to attend Ciara O’Doherty’s YouTube workshop which was hosted in The Dean hotel on Harcourt Street by the lovely guys at FrockAdvisor and Galaxy. Galaxy are the title sponsor for Dublin Fashion Festival so the workshops were held in association with this. There were 4 workshops, each with a different digital influencer or blogger so James Kavanagh, James Butler and Ciara have each hosted one and Anouska’s one will be on this weekend. They each covered a different platform, from Snapchat to Instagram and I have to say that Ciara’s presentation on YouTube was so interesting! There’s a huge amount of work behind each YouTube video and I admire anyone that has the balls to do it but for the time being I think I’ll stick to my 10 second long Snapchat vids 👌🏼😁😂 IMG_1976IMG_2004

I had a really crazy week, a lot of stuff went on so I wasn’t sure myself if I’d go to the workshop until the night before.. Last minute as usual 😜 I was really glad to hear that a friend of mine that I met when I worked in New Look was going too – Lei writes a blog called The Style Preacher so it was great to have a buddy to sit with, (right at the Front of the Entire Room!! 😂) She’s an absolute character and we had great craic!

Being so last minute, my outfit was literally thrown together 🙈😜 I was lucky to have picked up some bits in Zara recently – I instantly needed these cargo style jeans when I saw Pippa O’Connor wearing them not so long ago. They’re a soft denim and have a great stretch in them, meaning they’re extremely comfortable although they are a mid-rise pants. I think it’s nice to have a change from blue or black denim for casual looks on my days off. I ordered these online and had them delivered to the Zara in Whitewater Shopping Centre and like the girl that served me remarked, you can never ‘just’ go in and collect your delivery 😉IMG_9337

There’s always so much temptation in there and now that the new Autumn Winter stock has begun arriving, I’m overjoyed! I thought that this floral print dress/shirt/jacket/thing would be a nice complimentary piece for the cargo jeans and it was styled over a midnight blue slinky camisole in the store. I wanted to get both but I knew I had something similar at home, so being practical I paired it with this navy camisole from New Look on Saturday 👌🏼 I love that there are so many different ways to wear this button up dress and the tie at the waist means you can create a nice shape instead of it looking like a sack!IMG_9338

Comfy shoes were going to be key for the workshop as I had to bus it up and down and when the bus was late arriving in Dublin, (typical!!), I was like a crazy lady, busting through the streets around St. Stephens Green to make it to The Dean in time 😜😂 I just wore these Chanel inspired espadrilles that are still to this day, one of my best bargains ever! They’re Carvela by Kurt Geiger and I picked them up in the Kurt Geiger Boutique in Kildare Village last year – they were originally €110 but I snapped them up for just €35!!IMG_2014

Overall, the look was very laid-back and casual but kind of safari-chic inspired, I just love the khaki and floral print combination!
