Tie Dye For: 5 Pieces Your Wardrobe Needs

Tie Dye For: 5 Pieces Your Wardrobe Needs

Without a doubt, tie dye is a huge trend for SS20. The process of tying and dying that shot to fame in the 60’s has experienced a resurgence during the Covid-lockdown. I’ve noticed countless Tik Tok’s and Instagram stories of people remodelling their plain clothes in to super cool tie dye designs.

If you’re not feeling brave enough to D.I.Y, I’ve sourced 5 pieces that are the perfect nod to the psychedelic trend.

The Boyf Tee from POCO

Pippa O’Connor’s brand POCO recently launched a summer range of t-shirts, sweaters and hoodies, which were a sell out success. I managed to get my hands on The Boyf Tee (pictured) in pink tie dye. The tee’s are a relaxed, oversize fit and are 100% cotton. Also, the t-shirts are quite long so if you like them to come down to your bum, you’ll love The Boyf fit. I am a pear shape, so I definitely find that the length means it catches more around my hips and bum, and not as free flowing as modelled on the lovely Pippa. But my solution to that is to wear the t-shirt tucked in, or to wear a fab blazer over it. They are due to be restocked in July and you can shop the full collection here.

The Gabby Dress from Fayebella

How cute are these two dresses from Irish boutique, Fayebella. The ideal dress for sunnier days, it’s fabulous teamed with sandals as Edel models. Or you could pair it with your white trainers and a denim jacket for a casual look. The ruched effect on the bust is super flattering and falls away to a flowing skirt. Also, you could add a belt to this dress to create more shape. Shop the green dress here and the orange dress here.

The Prism Sweatshirt from Skye Dye

I have to thank Laura Cooney for introducing me to this next brand. Skye Dye by Claire Jameson is an Irish brand that create unique tie dye designs on organic cotton garments. Because Skye Dye work on a limited collection basis, you pre-order your individual item as part of an exclusive drop. This is great for the environment and sustainable fashion, as there is no waste! You can read more about Skye Dye’s brilliant business model here. Drop 2 is coming in July, so make sure you’re ready to place your unique order fast!

Tie Dye Tracksuit from Charlottes Love

There’s an incredibly strong message behind this next brand and it’s clear from the second you scroll down through Charlottes Love Instagram profile. It’s all about Freedom, Love and a Soulful Energy and I’m all for that vibe, always! Charlotte’s collection ranges everything from hoodies, sweatshirts, headbands, tracksuits and cycling shorts. I particularly love the 2-piece tracksuit, which would be just as incredible worn together or mix and match with some plain clothes too. You can shop the full collection here.

Tie Dye Loungewear from MSC The Store

I don’t think even Anna Wintour herself could have predicted how hot loungewear would be in 2020, but thanks to the lockdown, it’s been all anyone wanted to wear for 3 months! So how cute is this tie dye set from My Sister’s Closet. The Irish boutique gone global, always have their finger on the pulse of stylish trends and this two piece is no different. I love the v-neck in the hoodie for a more relaxed fit, and the vibrant colours would lift anyone’s mood. You can shop the tracksuit here.

That has certainly injected a little bit of sunshine in to my day! Let me know if you have any favourites in the comments below, or on Instagram here.
