What I Wore: When ‘Just Casual’ turns into ‘Full Glam’

Fashion Blogger What I Wore

Hey dolls! I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I was working away over the weekend before college resumed today. But on Saturday night I found myself heading to Kilkenny with my family to celebrate my cousins 30th birthday. It’s great to grab the chance to catch up with family when I can as I’m so busy lately. My family are spread out across the country too so our visits are few and far between unfortunately. With a couple of hours to spare on Saturday evening I decided to take my time getting ready. As the party was in the house, I planned on going sort of casual, you can’t go wrong with that. But of course, with time on my hands I ended up with full glam make up! 🙈😜😂

Style Diary

My outfit was quite casual though so I suppose I was a happy medium. I knew that I would definitely wear this light blazer anyway. I recently picked it up in the New Look sale for just €12! It’s a lightweight material as it’s not lined so it’s ideal for the summer time or holidays. I also like how it’s a double breasted effect, that’s a really smart look. I teamed it with a pink silky top for a pop of colour underneath.

There was just too much black happening when I tried on my leather look jeans with it so instead I opted for these indigo jeans. They’re also a recent purchase from New Look – they’re the new Jenna style which is the skinny fit of jeans. They’re unbelievably comfortable and are a mid rise too.

The pièce de résistance is the handbag! Oh man, I’m just in love!! I had been lusting after this beautiful embroidered bag for a little while and treated myself to it on Saturday. It’s also from New Look, (Surprise Surprise!!) and has a dainty gold chain strap. That can be doubled up to make a shorter shoulder strap out of it either. I adore the colours used in the embroidery, which is obviously a huge trend this year, as they’re neautral enough to go with anything. I feel like the bag really pulled this look together 👌🏼
